We have been training mules and horses for several years now. We
like to take a slow and calm approach when starting a young animal.
We do a lot of round pen work as well as various other training techniques
from the ground. We don't generally accept any animals for less than
30 days and really prefer 60 or 90 days to get a real nice start on one.
Chris has trained two mules specifically (Sienna and Raisin) for the 3
Year Old Futurity* at various shows. This takes tons of time and
repetition. Chris rode both of the mules for 8 or 9 months. The hard
work paid off winning both of the futurities at the All Star Show in
Columbia, MO and the Iowa Donkey and Mule Society (IDMS) Show in
Bloomfield, IA in 2003 and 2004. The 3 Year Old Futurity includes Halter, Trail and Western Pleasure.
The Copyright colts are old enough to start riding and are doing
excellent. All of the colts have been trail riding machines with the
willingness, disposition and brains to do it all. We have had several very
satisfied customers.
